We helped the Coral Reef Alliance create a easy to duplicate set of micro-sites for marine protected areas they support as part of the assistance programs.

By using Word Press and creating an easy to customize template we were able to help CORAL Programs department provide remote marine protection areas with the ability to showcase their special places all over the world via the Web. The project had an extremely tight budget and needed to be usable and easy to duplicate without major technological assistance.

Our solution was to customize a basic template and to standardize the architecure for best practices. By following the plan content needs were obvious and easy to collect. The simplicity of the Word Press administration screens makes for easy training of new editors and limits the opportunities to make errors. While each micro-site shares the same framework, custom color palettes, graphics and local photos give each one its own individual and authentic identity. Common code names and a set of Photoshop templates for all site graphics makes creating new sites based on the theme economical and efficient.
