The Sustaining Family Forests Initiative needed a full interactive experience to help forestry officials understand woodland owners and how to reach them to encourage good practices on their lands. Center for Nonprofit Strategies contacted me to help architect and design 3 distinct online elements – an informational website, a wizard style interactive planning tool and data generated infographics that provide landowner profiles based on geographical data and profile characteristics. Visit the site to see them in action.
Design considerations included keeping the site visuals simple and ensure that it would be quick to load on low bandwidth connections and handling large amounts of text and information in an elegant way that provided a clear path for the user.
